[Verse - DMX]
Once again it's the darker nigga
Here to spark a nigga, break apart a nigga
But the dog is bigger, under stress
So unless you're wanting to bless to the chest
These slugs from his Smith and Wess REST!
Or the pump'll put a hurt on a nigga
DUMP SIX, motherfucker feed em dirt on a nigga
My hands stay dirty, cause I play dirty the mob way
You don't know? fuck it find out the hard way
A nigga's job is never done
I handle my business how it come
And there's never been a one on one
Nor has there been a problem, I dissolve them
I'm like salt, I'll get up
Hate to fall but never wreck his car
And it's my fault, keep niggaz on point ducking down
Niggaz like you need to get bust you fucking clown
I extort to support my peeps
And hold down the fort, never get caught cause I creeps NIGGA!

[Verse - DMX]
I'm at the crossroads, look but I'm not really sure which way to go
Should I play that low for what I did the other day
They on their way to float, got me striking this random
I can't stand em, fake ass niggaz want to be the Phantom
Looking over my shoulder, cause it's colder than it was
And start shorty, because I'm a little older than cuz
And the buzz from the saw, wit the chain to your brain
Will turn that BIG NIGGA to a fucking stain
That pain from the dirt makes the hurt go away for a minute
But I'm gon die by it cause I'm like knee deep in it
And you motherfuckers wonder why I start shit
Cause when you look in my face you see that hard shit
Cause I done been to hell and back I ain't wit selling crack
I'd rather rob a nigga leave him wit a shell up in his back
On the real just to show proof, hit the G.W.B.
And blow the whole roof off the toll booth bitch ass nigga!

[Verse - DMX]
When I crawl, leave a nigga sprawled out after I spoke em
I'll slit his throat, dick in the mud and let his blood choke em
Up north niggaz get the pick stuck up in em
And in the streets bitches get the dick stuck up in em
My M.O. is man-slaughter kid
Cause on the reals I done wet up more motherfuckers than water did
Slid, cause I got to slide when the dirt is done
A homicide but they want me on the Murder 1
But as long as I got my gun, I'm aight
Stay outta sight while it's light, and then come out at night
To make moves again, stomp and bruise again
I know I'm going to hell cause I choose to sin
All my motherfucking life I been the Devil's advocate
Mad niggaz never even knew the devil had a kid
But he does and when you hear the buzz of the chainsaw
You'll know what I'll split your motherfucking brains for

[Chorus - repeat 2x]

[Outro - Swizz Beatz]
Don't start nothing, it won't be nothing
Don't start nothing, it won't be nothing
You wanna start something, it's gon be somethin
You wanna start something, it's gon be somethin
Don't start nothing, it won't be nothing
Don't start nothing, it won't be nothing
You wanna start something, it's gon be somethin
You wanna start something, it's gon be somethin
Yo yo CMON!

the boy with the thorn in his side

The boy with the thorn in his side
Behind the hatred there lies
A murderous desire for love
How can they look into my eyes
And still they don't believe me ?
How can they hear me say those words
Still they don't believe me ?
And if they don't believe me now
Will they ever believe me ?
And if they don't believe me now
Will they ever, they ever, believe me ?
Oh ...

The boy with the thorn in his side
Behind the hatred there lies
A plundering desire for love
How can they see the Love in our eyes
And still they don't believe us ?
And after all this time
They don't want to believe us
And if they don't believe us now
Will they ever believe us ?
And when you want to Live
How do you start ?
Where do you go ?
Who do you need to know ?

Oh ...
Oh no ...
Oh ...

El Rio Interviews Ghetto Frida

El Rio Interviews Ghetto Frida

El Rio Presents an Interview With Ghetto Frida.

Recognized as one of the greatest artists of the 20th Century, Frida Kahlo has gone through a transformation recently. Now known as Ghetto Frida, she digs in the scene with a gangsta lean. El Rio caught up with Ghetto Frida to get the scoop.

What’s up Ghetto Frida? The most important question to start with is, why go Ghetto?

The art game is ruthless. Now I know I have fame off my artwork and that movie with Salma Hayek but now there’s so many artists creeping up on the scene, public funding is being cut, and galleries are going broke. I needed to do something to distinguish myself. Now I’m Ghetto Frida and I run this art shit. You roll thick, I roll thicker.

How do you feel about being a style icon?

Honestly, it’s burned me out. Too many people are trying to be me. Let’s take Lila Downs. I mean, I like homegirl’s music and all but I should get a royalty check every time she goes out in public. So I decided to switch my style up. Some people tried to convince me to go 80’s with my look but I decided to break ground and get down with the 1990’s. I’ve been buying up CrossXColors on EBay lately. Remember CrossXColors? Now that’s a throwback!

Hella throwback. So are you gonna be rockin’ yellow and purple jeans?

Well I just got an orange and green denim jacket; the pants come next. I’ve always been ahead of the times and my style will have a huge impact. Time to break out your Blue Blockers.

So what’s new with your artwork?

Man, everything. After seeing so many damn silkscreen portraits of myself over the years I figured I better get in on this hustle. I just produced a limited run of prints that are self-portraits of me showing off my new diamond fronts.

I’ll tell you, it’s hard to change your art style up in this mug. Shorties that used to be down with me are turning their backs on Ghetto Frida. You get to see that some of these fools are real Frida fans, but a lot is some busters.

Is it true you beat up Salomon Huerta?

Now I wanna say I love Chicano artists, they’re cool and they know how to party, but Salomon runs his mouth too much so Ghetto Frida had to serve him up.

The story goes like this: Tina Modotti and I were doing whippits in front of the Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles. Salomon and his asskissing friends show up and I’m all like “Salomon, hit this can for a moment” and he just walked past me without even looking my way. Like I was a piece of trash or something. Right then I knew Ghetto Frida had to put him in check.

Is that when shit broke off?

Yeah, I ran up behind Salomon and kicked him in the back of the head like I was Shinobi. As soon as he hit the floor his little pack of friends stepped to me and Tina and it was on and cracking. Tina was fighting off his boys and I was standing over Salomon giving him shots to the back of the neck while he was curled up on the floor. He’s lucky I was high or I would have really fucked him up.

What’s next for Ghetto Frida?

Well I’m going back to Mexico to do some campaigning for the EZLN. Marcos is my boy; we used to get five on it when he was still coming up. I’m burnin’ hella CDs off of my itunes for the indigenous population in Chiapas. I’m gonna make sure each one of them Indios knows the lyrics to “Gin and Juice.”

One last question, why did you stick around Diego after he dogged you so many times?

Look, Ghetto Frida knows Diego slept around. You know I’ve had to punch my man in the balls for that slick shit. But he’s not the only one down with O.P.P.

Say what? Are you down with O.P.P.?

Yeah, you know me.

Love her or loathe her, uber-diva Jennifer Lopez knows how to deliver on record. She understands how to make the most of her limited vocal range, choosing to surround herself with able producers Rodney Jerkins, Timbaland, Big Boi and Cory Rooney, who oversaw Lopez's first album, On the 6. The mix makes Rebirth far more enjoyable than it should be, coasting on midnight-groove ballads and polished dance tracks. Lopez's fourth studio album offers little insight into her much-gossiped-about persona, but it's an undeniably fun ride anyway. A blaring James Brown horn riff drills first single "Get Right" into your head almost immediately, and soon enough, you'll find yourself bopping to the beat. The Middle-Eastern flavor of "Step Into My World" is undeniably seductive, and it's actually enhanced by Lopez's wisp of a voice. "Whatever You Wanna Do" and "Cherry Pie" are solid dance tracks, the kind of grooves Janet Jackson made before she became a Superbowl afterthought. Elsewhere, the album is peppered with R&B ballads, much like Lopez's 2002 opus, This Is Me ... Then. Rebirth is hardly a groundbreaking affair, but it continues to showcase Lopez's skillful trend of producing solid, catchy, R&B-laced records. Nothing here ever sounds forced or canned, and in the world of MTV and radio edits, maybe that does make Lopez a bit of a revolutionary after all. --Joey Guerra
